After David and his wife June returned from overseas, they saw oyster farming as a good opportunity to live and work in David’s hometown of Coffin Bay. Eventually they were able to secure their own patch of water to begin the family business. It’s the lifestyle that has kept then in the game ever since!
David and June have kept their farm small enough to monitor the stock every day. Along the way they have gained a great deal of experience and knowledge of the local marine environment. To give you an idea of how isolated their growing area is – they can only see one house from the farm! David and June consider themselves incredibly fortunate to live in a unique, natural and unpolluted part of the word.
Being surrounded by National Park means they are constantly observing marine creatures including dolphins, seals and penguins. Even shed work is often livened up by visiting emus, kangaroos and the odd goanna!
