David was a boiler-maker and boat maker before joining the oyster farming industry in 1990. He lived overseas with his wife, June, in Canada for a while and when he returned to Coffin Bay, South Australia, he started working for a mate on his oyster farm.
He loves the lifestyle of oyster farming and believes it has a great balance between work and life, giving him plenty of time off with his kids. He has been doing it for so long that he has perfected the art of oyster growing.
David hopes to try the new technologies in the future, but for now he likes that he and June can control the quality of the product by personally checking the oysters daily.
Besides oyster farming, David is the president of the golf club and has recently undertaken a big project installing new greens at the club. He is also involved with other organisations around town, such as the bowls and yacht clubs. June is also involved in the community and enjoys playing in a local band. On top of that they have a couple of kids; in case you did not think they were already busy enough.
