After finishing his marine biology degree on the Sunshine Coast, Nathanael Dodt followed his love of the ocean and aquaculture to Grown Bay off Bruny Island, Tasmania. This means he is in Australia’s most southern oyster farming region and is the exposed to the strong Antarctic winds. The waves bring in the cold, nutrient rich currents that impart a unique flavour and quality to his oysters. It takes a rare character to brave that kind of weather.
He loves oyster farming and hopes that his passion for the ocean is evident in the flavour of his oysters.
